It says a lot about someone’s skillset when he can feature the famous Notre Dame Football Stadium in his professional portfolio. Such was the good fortune of carpenter Harry Verkler, who originally started the construction company known today as Verkler, Inc., a long-time Alerding CPA Group client.
Since its beginning in 1935 and eventual ownership by Jim and Fred Lusk, Verkler has become one of Indiana’s premier general contractors. It was recently recognized by the American Concrete Institute for outstanding institutional achievement in concrete for its work at the Simon Skojdt Assembly Hall on the campus of Indiana University in Bloomington. Some of Verkler’s other clients include Eskenazi Health and MSD of Lawrence Township.
Verkler has been using audit, tax and consulting services of Alerding CPA Group since 1999. “We have valued all the guidance from the Alerding professionals,” said Fred Lusk, Chief Financial Officer at Verkler. “They have been a valuable partner with us. We count on their expertise and diligence to keep us updated with tax code changes as well as moving Verkler ahead in an ever-changing business environment,” he added.
“I have known Jim and Fred Lusk for over 18 years. Their integrity and commitment to produce the best quality product with the highest level of service, doesn’t surprise me,” said Mike Staton, Managing Director at Alerding. “They kept the Verkler family name because family and how you treat others is important to them,” he added.
