David W. Garrett

Tax Director

David Garrett, CPA, CGMA, directs Alerding CPA Group's Tax Services Group. He has worked in public accounting for 30 years providing financial and comprehensive tax services and advice to a cross-section of industry clients. Prior to joining Alerding, he owned his own firm for 17 years.

As Tax Director, Dave helps his clients make smart business decisions to maximize profitability and minimize tax liability. Dave focuses primarily on corporate structure, financing, taxation and operational issues including M&A transaction structuring, planning, and modeling. Dave’s areas of specialization include complex tax matters including planning for individuals and pass-through entities such as LLCs, partnerships and S Corporations, as well as state sales and use tax issues.

Dave is passionate about helping his clients formulate tax strategies that make business sense. He shares his expert insights freely and conducts informational presentations to area Chambers of Commerce and conferences regarding new tax laws and changes.

Supporting the community is also important to Dave. He is a past treasurer for Herron High School and provides financial guidance to the Center for Victim and Human Rights.
