Did you know that in the state of Indiana, there is no license required to become an electrician or an electrical contractor? Literally, anyone…anyone at all, can call himself an electrician and wire your home, your work, even your kid’s school. Thankfully, there are organizations like the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) that are comprised of contractors who care enough to hold their employees and themselves to the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and professionalism, going far above what is required in this or any other state.
The Central Indiana Chapter of NECA, an Alerding CPA Group client, is Indiana’s voice for the $130 billion industry responsible for lighting, power and communications systems throughout our communities. They advance the electrical contracting industry through advocacy, education, research and development of safety standards. Since 1946, the Central Indiana Chapter has been dedicated to providing education and industry and legislative updates, to promote higher standards through quality workmanship and training.
From their two student chapters at Purdue and Ball State to their six state of the art apprenticeship training centers in Central Indiana, the Association has done everything it can to ensure that if your project is built by a NECA contractor, you can rest assured that it will come in on time, on budget, and most of all, safe.
“Our members count on us to help them become the best contractors possible when they serve their customers,” said Ted Uppole, Executive Manager of the Central Indiana Chapter of NECA. “And we count on our service providers like Alerding CPA Group in just the same way,” he added.
“We appreciate the opportunity to provide audit and tax services for The Central Indiana Chapter of NECA,” said Chris Mennel, Senior Audit Manager at Alerding CPA Group. “It is a pleasure to work with Ted Uppole and Larry Van Tries before him during the past 15 years,” he added.
